Next Hooke's Law of elasticity? Need some sources of error in a lab and real world applications of springs.?

We did a simple lab on it, where we streched two different springs with pre-determined forces and observed the distance the springs were stretched. With this, we were able to determine the spring constant for both springs. Now here's where I need your help. I need to know as many real world applications for springs as possible.

Also, I need to know any many sources of error in this lab as possible. I'm writing a lab report on this and I'm a bit stumped. There really doesn't seem to be much error involved with the experiment aside from human error I don't really know of any real world applications for springs, either.

Any help is greatly appreciated! I'm not sure if this question is better asked in the Engineering section or the Physics section, so I'll post it in both Update: There really isn't much more to this lab, it's very basic I'm only a freshmen in high school.

The only thing that I might want to add is that we applied a force on each spring by attaching masses with predetermined weights. Basically, gravity applied the force on the springs.Digital Lab Oven offered are made available by us in the triple walled finish with inner chambers made in either M.S.

or S.S. grade metal options, thus providing optimum functional support as well as long lasting service life. These lab ovens also feature gaps present between two walled that are filled with ceramic insulation so as to ensure there .

Hooke’s Law states that, for certain elastic materials, force is proportional to extension, when a sample is initiativeblog.com means that the extension of the sample increases linearly with the amount of force applied.

QUESTIONS ON HOOKE’S LAW 1. A spring is 20 cm long when a load of 10 N is hanging from it, and 30 cm long when a load of 20 N is hanging from it. Draw a graph to work out the length of the spring when: a] there is no load on it; b] there is a load of 5 N on it.
